Il manubrio in carbonio ProTaper è caratterizzato dal trattamento PFL (Plastic Foam Lamination). La procedura di laminazione PFL impiega delle particelle e la pressione del vapore per espandere e modellare la struttura del manubrio. La procedura utilizza una quantità minore di resina e di strati, ottenendo pertanto un manubrio più leggero del 15%, mentre la finitura testurizzata Grit Grip nelle zone di serraggio evita il serraggio eccessivo dei componenti.
