Blacklabel ATR 700C

I purchased a set of these Blacklabel ATR 700c wheels over a year ago on the advice of a good friend. They were used on my road bike to replace the Giant SLR1 wheels it came with. I ride over 6000 miles a year on the road and my intention was to have a “bomb proof” set of road wheels. My primary cycling competitions are in cyclocross.
Though these wheels are intended to be (off-road) and are ideal for gravel riding, I loved the idea of an ultra-wide rim on the road. I paired the wheels with 28mm tires and run them with TPU or latex tubes. The 28mm tire is the perfect width with this rim if used with road tires. The transition from tire to rim is ideal and aerodynamic. I would not use anything narrower with this rim because the rim will flare wider than the tire and expose it to potential damage.
The wide internal width of this rim on a road tire allows for a very low tire pressure. I am 170lbs and run this setup at 60psi back, 55psi front and absolutely love it. So smooth and comfortable, no risk of pinch flats.
After 12,000 miles these wheels are still perfect and true. I decided to purchase a second set…The new set is on the road bike and the used set is now on my cyclocross bike. I run clincher tires for cyclocross when the conditions are dry and fast, and these rims allow my 33mm cyclocross tires to balloon out to 38mm, which is the max width allowed for UCI races like National Championships. I have been training on this setup and love it! I will compete all season including National Championships in Louisville with these wheels and fully expect them the be bomb proof.
I would highly recommend these wheels for on and off-road use. One other bonus… These wheels are “hooked rim”. I have done my research and for higher pressures like road tires, and for lower pressures like cyclocross, I want a hooked rim. Hookless works great for those middle pressures, but thankfully Reynolds has not cheaped out and gone hookless on these rims.

Got these for my cyclocross bike the night before a race.. Set was super easy with my Challenge Grifo 33mm tires and they performed flawlessly on a pretty demanding course.
Confidence is high!!!

So far so good as they're one week old. Running a 32 MM all conditions road/light gravel tire. These wheels spin up fast and provide some dampening on the gravel roads. Hubs resonate quality and are just the right sound level.

Love that the nipples are external so you don’t have to deconstruct the wheel (tire/sealant/tape) in order to true the wheel. I-9 hub is amazing, smooth rolling!
