As others have written here, my wrists were experiencing a lot of pain after several miles on the bike. These bars have changed that. I would like to suggest to some other users that they can change the "upsweep" these bars seem to have to a level position (at the grip area) or even a "downsweep" by simply rotating the bars in the stem and adjusting your brakes and shifters accordingly. I have played around with this adjustment feature quite a lot to get that perfect fit for me. Hope that is helpful, and thank you, ProTaper, for this product.
I had some Rest issues years ago and started using alt bars. When the Carnegie was discontinued in this country, I bought my first set of 2020s. Worth every penny, and the shapely design never ceases to amaze my friends. I have them On my hardtail, full suspension, and fat bike

I don’t seem to be able to get away from this 20/20 bar. I have it on my Trek Fuel EX and it completely solved my outer wrist pain issues, which were threatening my ability to even ride anymore. It also solved my trapezius center shoulder tension build up issue. I’ve had this bar for five years, along with a pair of SQ Labs 720 ergo grips (provides small scalloped ledge for the outer part of your paw), and can ride any distance, any terrain, and ZERO pain issues. Wow.
Now I’m building out a used 2020 Trek Top Fuel, and I’m trying the 9 degree backsweep Bontrager bar that came with it, and outer wrist pain instantly came back. I’m ordering another 20/20 bar right away.
Couple suggestions Hayes folks tho. I had a PT measure my neutral wrist angle, and it’s 17.5, not 20 degrees. I asked the PT and they said 20 degrees is pretty extreme actually. Most folks are closer to 16-18d.
Also, the bar has upsweep. This is a design trend in mtb to pitch your elbows up and out. But… upsweep increases wrist stress, and trapezius center shoulder stress. Please create a flat bar version. Rise.. yes please, about 25mm to 35mm, but no upsweep on the bar ends. Upsweep counters the brilliant backsweep you’ve created. Not complaining. Just explaining.

Just bought my second one for a new bike build. The first ones have been awesome to minimize hand pain after multiple surgeries. These are a must for any flat bar bike I own!
