Our engineering team began by researching anthropometric data from a NASA database. We determined the average hand size of a 6-10 year old which set the team into motion. Normally, grip diameter is a result of adding material to a standard handlebar size. For the JUNIT ProTaper handlebar system, we flipped the script. We began by determining the ideal grip diameter, and worked inward. The result is a handlebar and grip that’s ideal for a smaller ergonomic profile. JUNIT ProTaper handlebar and grip are designed to be used together. For an element of added safety, the grip utilizes a built in bar plug that will never fall out. The JUNIT ProTaper handlebar system works with all existing shifters and brakes, as the JUNIT ProTaper grip features standard component mounting diameter.

I've had both sizes of these grips as my kids have grown through them. They are perfect for little hands. Two potential negative considerations:
1. The small size 23mm size. One consideration is how small the end of the bar is on these and potential injury that could occur if it were to impact a child's abdomen or chest, for example. I was worried about that so ended up putting some extra end caps on, I just used floor protectors that I bought off Amazon, something you'd use to protect a floor from bar stools. Just something to consider give they're quite small with a metal end.
2. I found the grips wear maybe a tad quicker than a reg grip as there isn't as much rubber. But a good trade-off for better fit.
I've given them 4 stars as I think they could be improved to address these 2 points, but also want to point out they're the best bars that I know of for kids.
These bars are a game changer for your grom. My son’s abilities made an instant jump by being able to grip the bars, and operate the brakes more easily.
Smallest great available with pro taper bar, perfect to learn with small hands before moving to more traditional sizing.
Perfect step up from the small grips for the kids as they get bigger.
